

Remona was born in Thomaston, Georgia on August 3, 1940 to Asa Chappell Hill and Mantie Byrd Penn Hill. Remona grew up in Yatesville, Georgia and met her future husband “Jimmy” as a teenager. Remona and Jimmy married in 1959 which was shortly after he returned home from Germany where he had served in the U.S. Air Force. They remained happily married for nearly 65 years until his death in December, 2023.
Remona devoted her whole life to loving God, her husband Jimmy and their children Crystal and Jim. No one or nothing at all was more important to her than they were. She was truly a beautiful and selfless person. Her loving heart and quick wit will be missed by many. Remona retired after many years of helping operate the family business, Stallings Dental Company. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and Saint Peter Claver Catholic Church. She was a member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary and was honored by the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament as an associate. She was a long time member of the Sidney Lanier Chapter, UDC and former member of the Nathaniel Macon Chapter, DAR. Remona received several awards for her contributions to the Sons of the American Revolution including the Martha Washington medal.
Remona was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, Asa and Mantie Hill, her brother, Wyly Chappell Hill and her cat Honeybee. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal (Steve) Jump, son, Jim (Amy) Stallings, grandchildren, Michael Stallings, Clark Stallings, Caty (Rob) Fealko, and great-grandchildren, Bert Fealko, Evelyn Fealko & Millie Fealko. Remona is also survived by her nephew, Steven Hill, niece, Stephanie Hill Allen, sisters-in-law, Valerie Hill, Betty Huber and Jan Streetman, along with her many friends, especially those at John Wesley Villas.
A rosary and visitation will be held on Monday June 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church followed by a funeral mass at 11:00. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, Yatesville, Georgia at 2:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the Kolbe Center, Parkinson’s Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
