She was a talented decorator and had a lovely home. She especially delighted in decorating her home and yard at Christmas. She hosted many events.
In her retirement years she was a devoted caregiver for family members, enjoyed working in her yard, interior decorating, researching family history and writing poems about her family and friends, and enjoyed the company of her husband and precious doggies.

She leaves 39 of them to cherish her memory, along with 12 first cousins with whom she kept in touch with on a regular basis. Shelby came from a long line of love which grew from early childhood and continued throughout her entire life…the love shared with all her family was one of her greatest joys.
