Shirley "Sandy" Burns Lancaster

Shirley “Sandy” Burns Lancaster, 90, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate Section. The Rev. Bryan Hinson will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 753 College Street, Macon 31201 or the donor’s favorite charity.

Mrs. Lancaster was born in Baltimore, Maryland the daughter of the late Dorothy Head Burns and Harry Burns. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Mrs. Lancaster was the widow of Carl E. Lancaster, Jr.

Mrs. Lancaster is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Eilers (Greg) of Gray and Nancy Irby (George Todd) of Macon; step-daughter, Ginny Smithwick (Dave) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Caitlin Pittman (Dan), Jason Smithwick, Andrew Smithwick, and Shannon Patterson; 2 great-grandchildren, Aubrey Pittman and Gabriel Patterson.
