Sylvia was born on August 16, 1950 in Macon to the late Martha Marrette Black and Jack Peshing Black. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College and was self-employed as an artist. She is survived by her sister, Pamela (Stephen) Miller of Atlanta and brother-in-law, Philip Ross Miller of Macon.
