

Thomas Wesley Bennett, 87, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
In the early 1970s, Tom served in the Georgia State House of Representatives while establishing a successful law practice in Macon, Georgia. He further contributed to the field of law by being a published author of malpractice legal proceedings. Tom's love for sailing was a constant source of joy throughout his life, providing him solace and adventure. He was involved in the Methodist church, initially serving as a lay pastor and later as a Sunday School teacher. Tom's commitment to faith and community made him a respected and influential figure, serving in various capacities to support and uplift those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Bennett; his children, April Rogers (Jeff Rogers), Deanne Allen, Randy Bennett (Jana Bennett), Wendy Rockett (Jonathan Rockett), Jennifer Fabbri (John Fabbri), as well as his 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Tom's legacy of service, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
