Timothy Joe Slaton

JACKSON, GA – Timothy Slaton (Timmy Joe) , 48, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Wayne Whitley will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM Sunday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue.

Mr. Slaton was born in Macon and had lived here most of his life. He was a graduate of Southwest High School in 1981 and attended Gospel Mission Church in Covington. Mr. Slaton drove for Millis Transfer, Inc. He was the son of the late Leonard Paul Slaton, Jr. and Marilyn Jackson Slaton. Mr. Slaton was an avid golfer with his son, Todd and enjoyed having long talks with his daughter, Heather.

Mr. Slaton is survived by his wife, Durenda Slaton of Jackson, GA; son, Todd (Melissa Beck) Slaton of Byron; daughter, Heather (John) Church of Gray; step-children, Jerry Davenport, Jr., Amanda Davenport, Kristi Davenport, Mary Davenport, Brandy Coker, Amy Tyson and Steven Gaines; 12 grandchildren; step-mother, Margaret Slaton; siblings, Gail Humphries, Judy (Thurman) McDowell, Oliver (Karen) Bliss, Beth (Mike) Rigby, Paul L. Slaton, Douglas Slaton; a number of step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces & nephews; a special friend, Susan Bradford and her children, Jessie Raleigh and Junior Raleigh.
