William Dean Terrell

August 23, 1928April 6, 2021

William Dean Terrell was born in Toccoa, Georgia August 23, 1928, to Fred Raymond Terrell and Ruth Dean Terrell, passing away April 6, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in Riverside Cemetery. Dr. Mark Hudgins will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service and request that masks and social distancing be observed. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Ingleside Baptist Church, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon 31210. Dean graduated high school in Atlanta, was in the Coast Guard for three years on the Northwind and Storis icebreaker ships. He graduated from the University of Georgia Pharmacy School, was a pharmacist in Greenwood, SC for two years, moving to Macon with Wyeth Pharmaceutical Laboratories, was tops in his field for many years, retiring after 40 plus years. Dean was active at Ingleside Baptist Church for 60 plus years, serving as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, on the Search Committee for a pastor, on the church Building Committee for the Worship Center and a member of the Brotherhood Class. He was a Big Brother in early years in Macon, a member of the Lions Club for several years, and was a member of the Macon Exchange Club in later years. Dean enjoyed his men’s bridge club and creating woodworking keepsakes for his family. His family was 1974 Georgia Family of the Year. Dean is survived by his wife of 60 plus years, Nina; their children, Ruth Morgan (Greg), Dr. William Terrell (Jenn); grandchildren, Will Morgan, Luci Morgan Hogue (Jim), Nick Morgan (Amy), and Ivy Morgan Scott (Will); great-grandchildren, Tybee Ann Morgan, Vera Mae Morgan, Ella Layne Morgan, Harper Scott, and Millie Scott. I first met Dean when we were members of the Exchange Club. Later we continued our friendship at the Wellness Center. The best way I know to describe Dean is he was just a wonderful man. The world needs more Dean Terrells. He will be missed. Rest In Peace my friend.
