

Born on January 31, 1926, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Francisco Suarez and Amalia Garcia Suarez; brothers Frank and Felix are deceased. She attended The Academy of the Sacred Heart in New York City and graduated from Manhattanville College. Upon graduation, Molly was employed as a textile designer and assistant to the stylist at Bianchini Ferrier of Fifth Avenue while at the same time attending night school at the Cooper Union School of Art. In 1950, on a graduate scholarship from college, she enjoyed a year of study at the Villa Schifanoia Pius X School of Fine Art in Florence, Italy. In 1984, Molly received a Master of Science degree in Art Therapy from The College of New Rochelle, New York, and thereafter practiced for a time at Saint Vincent's Psychiatric Hospital in Harrison, New York.
Mrs. Burns and her family formerly lived in Larchmont, New York, where she was a communicant of Saint Augustine's Church and a member of the Larchmont Shore Club and the Mamaroneck Artists Guild. She moved with her husband to Madison in 1986 where she was a communicant of Saint Margaret Church and a member of The Madison Art Society, The Guilford Art League and an associate member of The Essex Art Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria B. Laughlin of Laurel, Maryland, son Edward, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Margaret Church in Madison on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11am. Friends may call at Swan Funeral Home in Madison on Thursday, February 5, from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Molly's memory to the charity of their choice or to the Arthritis Foundation, 35 Cold Spring Road, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
