Bertha Carlson, 103, of Mungertown Rd., Madison passed away May 31, 2011. She was born April 28, 1908 in Germany and immigrated to the US in the 1920’s. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, Carl Carlson and sister, Clara Munzenmaier of East Haven. Bertha initially worked as a cook for the president of Yale University and later operated an orchard adjacent to her property on Mungertown Rd. Bertha had many friends in the surrounding area and was active in the Madison Senior Center. Friends will be received from 9:30 AM Saturday until the time of service at 10:00 AM in the Madison Lutheran Church, 9 Britton Ln, Madison. Burial to follow at West Cemetery, Madison.
