Beth Garcia, 89, of Madison, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 15, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, with her daughter by her side. Beth was born in Meriden, CT of immigrant Greek parents, maiden name Alivisoz, changed to Allis. The youngest of three, she followed her brother to the University of Connecticut and became a lifelong Huskies fan. After college she escaped to Europe, where she toured in her British Racing Green MG/TF. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ralph, who was initially attracted to the car but soon realized he had found his Greek Goddess. They spent the next 20 years traveling the world and the United States at the graces of the US Army. She raised three children while doing so. After the Army she settled in Madison, CT, to be close to family. With her brother Andy, she helped establish the Allis Company realtors in Madison. She retired at the birth of her first grandchild 25 years ago. Her favorite place was the beach in Madison, which she visited every day until the last few days of her life. Beth is survived by her son Dr. Michael Garcia and wife Sarah of Alexandria, VA, her daughter Dana Burnham and her husband Jim of Wilmington, MA, her son-in-law Stephen Gorin of Golden, CO, and her four grandchildren Charlotte and Samuel Garcia and Thomas and Charlie Burnham. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Margo Gorin and her husband Ralph Garcia. A celebration of life is being planned, for more info please email us at: [email protected].
