Betty valiantly spent decades dealing with chronic health issues, but
could rally to enjoy the company of family and friends at the Evergreen
Woods Retirement Community in North Branford, CT. where she lived for
the last eight years. Betty was known for her lively empathetic interest
in others, her wit, her sense of humor, and for enjoying a good
conversation about social and political topics of the day. Betty was
pre-deceased by her son Robert and her husband William. She is survived
by her daughter Claire and husband Jim Loomis, her son Bruce and his
wife Rena, and by Barbara and Peter Gulick and their sons Travis and
Jesse, and Jesse's wife Marisa. Betty will be missed by loving nieces
Nancy Young-Bergman, Barbara Young, Janet Hanna,
Linda Fulps, and her nephew Hank Young, and their families. Betty's aide
Pat Lomotey took excellent care of her during the last two years, and her children
appreciate Pat's dedication. A private memorial service will be held
later in April.
