Catherine (Cathie) Josephine Cukar of Madison, CT, passed away on Thursday, September 10th, at the age of 78. She was born on June 10th, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, where she grew up. She later lived in New Jersey before settling in Connecticut. She worked as a human resources specialist for American President Lines for most of her career. Cathie was a devout Catholic who was actively involved in St. Margaret’s Church as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the counting team. She also provided weekly communion to residents of Harbor Chase of Madison, often alongside her grandson Christian. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine (Pindulic) Rubinich, her brother, Anthony Rubinich, and her sister, Mary Ann Rubinich. She is survived by her daughter, Christine, and her husband, Kevin Capizzi, grandsons Christian and Adrian Capizzi, as well as her daughter, Danielle, and her husband, Yosuke Kobayashi.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation with the family from 9:00-10:30am at Swan Funeral Home in Madison, CT, followed by a Funeral Mass
at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Madison, CT on Saturday, September 26th, at 11:00am.
