Charlotte was born on December 23, 1919 in Fallsburg, New York, daughter of Emery and Edith Holmes Patmor. The first in her family to attend college, Charlotte graduated from Syracuse University in 1940. She met her husband Everett while teaching math in Sandy Creek, NY. Together they moved to New City, NY, where they raised five children, and where Charlotte worked as a vice president and branch manager for Nanuet National Bank until she retired in 1979.
In retirement, Charlotte enjoyed travelling with Everett, and spent winters in Florida and summers in Vermont. She loved spending time with family, gardening, playing piano and organ, quilting, reading and baking. She used her talents for many volunteer activities, including working at the thrift shop at Roser Memorial Community Church in Anna Maria, Florida and sewing layettes for migrant workers. At the age of ninety-one, Charlotte moved to Madison to be closer to family and enjoyed two years at the Hearth at Tuxis Pond.
Charlotte is predeceased by her husband Everett, to whom she was married for fifty years, and by their daughter Marion Dann. She will be sadly missed by her remaining children and their spouses: Joyce and Larry Gibson, Ron and Candy Dann, Roger and Kathy Dann, Chris and Neal Scott, by six grandchildren: Ben Mattson, Becky Hewitt, Christopher and Jessica Dann, Nicole and Heidi Scott, and three great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service in her honor on Friday, June 7th at 10:30am at the North Madison Congregational Church, 1271 Durham Road, Madison. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (PO Box 27106, New York, NY 10087-7106) or The Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches, (PO Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064).
