

David Michael Sullivan of Madison, Connecticut passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 5, 1954, in Chelsea, Massachusetts and grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts.
He graduated from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1977.
David started his career as an auditor at Georgia Pacific, where he met his wife, Linda, and traveled across the United States. He later went on to work as a controller at various manufacturing companies in Connecticut.
David was a proud UConn dad and an avid UConn sports fan. He coached his daughters’ tee-ball, baseball, basketball, and soccer teams for many years. He was a member of the Madison Youth Soccer Club, and helped create the Madison Invitational Soccer Tournament, which is now held annually. He umpired for Little League in Madison. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Margaret Church. He enjoyed traveling, history, following Boston sports teams, watching soccer, and going to the movies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, Edgar and Ellen Sullivan, and his brothers-in-law, Jim Delmonte and Norman “Skippy” Gallant.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda, daughters, Hilary (Ben), Alyssa, and Brianna, brothers, Paul (Sue) and Neil (Deb), sister, Eileen Gallant, 13 nieces and nephews, and 6 great- nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Teddie, as well as his grandcat, Bella, and grandpups, Winnie and Sophie.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and PCAs at Yale’s Smilow Cancer Hospital for the care and compassion they showed David and his family during each and every visit.

In support of their dad’s courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, David’s daughters Alyssa and Brianna will be running the New York City Marathon in November to raise money for this organization, which funds blood cancer research. Calling Hours for David will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4pm until 7pm at Swan Funeral Home, located at 825 Boston Post Rd, Madison, CT. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home the next day, Friday, May 1, 2026, from 9am until 10am before heading to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am at St. George Catholic Church, located at 33 Whitfield St, Guilford CT. Immediately following the Mass, a graveside service will take place at Alderbrook Cemetery, located at 355 Boston St, Guilford, CT.
