Edward John "Jack" Finn died peacefully at home on February 6, 2022. He was a devoted husband to Jeanne Corcoran Finn for 66 years of marriage. Jack and Jeanne raised four children, Alice, Edward, Mary and Jerry. Today the family includes eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Madison, CT.
Jack earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Carnegie Institute of Technology. Upon graduation, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers. Jack was a well-respected executive during his long and successful career in the business world. He was employed at the Carborundum Company for thirty years and continued his career holding executive positions at Kennecott, SOHIO, British Petroleum and Dorr-Oliver. After retirement, he was on the Board of Directors of several companies, including Stantec ,Flakt, and Bay Mills. Jack was a member of the Board of Trustees at Niagara University, where he received an honorary degree, Doctor of Commercial Science. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University.
Jack's work involved a great deal of travel, accompanied by his wife as her schedule allowed. They travelled through Europe, Asia, and North and South America. He instilled a love of travel in his children and his grandchildren.
Jack's work required relocation to eight different localities, the most recent of which were Niagara Falls, NY, Cleveland, OH and Madison, CT. Living in Madison allowed Jack to continue to pursue his passion for boating. It was a pleasure he shared generously with his family and his many friends.
Jack was a loving husband, a caring and supportive father, and a respectful and empathetic friend. He was the definition of a good man.
