OBITUARY

Eileen Mary Johnson

Madison Eileen Mary Johnson of Madison, beloved wife of Gunnar, passed away January 23, 2013 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by her family. Eileen was born in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathleen Balmer. She is predeceased by her two brothers John and Arthur Balmer. Eileen and Gunnar were Directors of the Dance Educators of America and earned the title of Harvest Moon Ball Champions. Eileen has served on the Madison Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for over 12 years. It is largely because of their guidance and tenaciousness that Madison is such a beautiful town. So sweet, so elegant and so genuine. It was our honor to have gotten to know Eileen, and our first dance at our wedding, which she coreographed beautifully, will always serve as a welcome reminder of our time together. Our most heartfelt and deepest condolences on Eileen's passing. We have no doubt that she is dancing in heaven and that heaven is that much better for it.

Dear Gunnar,
Sadly, Madison has lost a bit of elegance and grace with the passing of Eileen who epitomized both so beautifully. How grateful we are to have had her as our dance instructor. Her cheerful demeanor and welcoming smile made our dance class truly something to look forward to.

Eileen gave us the joyful gift of ballroom dancing, as well as a delightful friendship.and we are very thankful for both.
We pray that God will give you comfort and peace at this difficult time.
Love,
Chuck & Marlene Beckman

Dear Gunner,
I am sad for your loss of Eileen, your lovely, elegant wife, your beloved dance partner. She gave me great pleasure when I learned the steps for so many dances with her. Mostly I will remember her as a warm friendly person always caring about everyone she spoke with.

Dear Gunnar, my heart goes out to you. I have very fond memories of Eileen coaching us through dance routines. I remember when I finally found the one dance, Tango, where I felt I could lead her for Pro/Am competitions. I'll go through life with shoulders back, a smile on my face and bounce in my steps because of her.
