Elio Albert Rossini, 93, husband of Connie Rossini both of Madison Ct since 2017 died on May 19, 2018 at Midstate Hospital after a brief illness. Al was born on March 9, 1925 in Ridgefield, CT to Dante and Marie Rossini who both immigrated from Monterado Italy. Al attended Ridgefield schools through high school and immediately went into the Army during WWII and served a tour of duty that took him around the world through Europe and Japan. After the war he leveraged the GI bill and went to college attending Fordham for several years and then transferring to Georgetown where he earned his degree. Upon graduation he went to NYC for his first job and most notably met Connie Celandano. They married and had four children, Mark, Al, Betsy and Tom. Al then started a career in the plastics industry and became VP of Sales for Fortune Plastics while helping the company to grow significantly. Eventually he started his own company, Pilot Industries for many years before ultimately retiring. Al and Connie raised their family along the Connecticut shoreline in Madison Ct and once retired they moved to Florida for 15 years where they enjoyed the retirement life and entertained family and many friends. Eventually to be closer to family they returned to Windsor Ct for the past 8 years.
Al enjoyed golf and through the years was active in the community and held positions on the Zoning Board of Appeals in Clinton, Ct, the Rotary in Wallingford Ct as well as the Lions Club in Madison Ct. His most cherished times where those he spent with his family and he will be missed by all.
He leaves behind his wife, Connie, of 64 years his son Mark and his wife Jan, and 2 sons Eric and Brian; his son Al and his wife Diane and their daughter Taylor; his daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) and her husband Jim and son Elliott and daughter Anna; and his son Tom and his son Sean and daughter Brittany.
He was predeceased by his parents Dante and Maria and his brother Paul all of Ridgefield, Ct.
A brief Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd at 3:00 at the Swan Funeral home and is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
