Frank (Ame) Amendola, 104, of Wallingford, died peacefully, February 2, 2020 at Masonicare Health Center. Born in New Haven, July 5, 1915, son of the late Ralph and Madeline (Amato) Amendola. Frank was a proud Veteran of the US Navy.
He enjoyed his career in his early years as the owner and operator of Ame Cosmetics. He loved to travel. Spent many years designing and building his own custom home. He spent his retired years working for Calabro Cheese Company, East Haven.
Frank had a true “Love for humanity” as he most recently described in an interview with the news media celebrating his 104 th birthday. He made an impact on everyone he knew. Genuine, Generous and a true Gentlemen would be the best words to describe Frank.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews and his nine Abbate Godchildren. He was predeceased by his siblings Carmel Maselli, Rachel Larson, Rose, Nicholas, Bart, Ralph and Sal Amendola. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Masonicare in Wallingford, who took exceptional care of Frank.
