Geraldine Carlson Jenkins, 86, of Madison, beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Jenkins, passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 2, 2018. Born on December 8, 1931 in New Britain, CT she was the daughter of Harold O.V. and Elsie Bengtson Carlson. Gerry graduated with Distinction from the University of Connecticut, where she met her husband. Geraldine worked as a bookkeeper at The Killingworth Country Store, which she and Art owned for many years. Gerry enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, playing piano, cross-stitch, board games and watching her beloved Red Sox and Bruins. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her two children; Debra Huffman and her husband Edward of Ambler, PA and Tom Jenkins and his wife Deena Small of Scarborough, ME; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Delaney Huffman of Philadelphia, PA, Tyler Bracken Huffman of Long Beach, NY, Erin Barry and her husband Garret Gagnon of Biddeford, ME and Colin Barry and his wife Rebecca Fay of Norman OK; and two great grandchildren, Jane and Anna Barry. She is also survived by her brother Richard Carlson of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was pre-deceased by her son Steven Richard Jenkins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 11:00 am at West Side Cemetery 42 3 Mile Course in Guilford followed by a reception.
