

Gertrude “Trudy” Murdock, 91, longtime resident of New Hempstead, NY, who more recently resided in Madison, Ct passed away on 8/24/26. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Trudy was born to James and Gertrude (Oakes) Guinan and lived in Queens and Brooklyn NY until 1955, when she married John Murdock and moved to Spring Valley NY. Trudy was a banker for most of her life, starting at the age of 15 and working for several different financial institutions until her retirement. Her greatest pleasure was doing for or giving to others. She was a long-time parishioner in NY of St. Joseph’s Church and later St, Boniface Church. She was also the first woman to be a Spring Valley Rotarian, served as a 4-H leader for 12 years, and fulfilled a lifelong goal by graduating from Rockland Community College at age 81! Her hobbies included reading, sewing, crocheting, and cooking and she loved to travel and spend time outdoors.
Trudy will be remembered by friends and family for her unconditional love, generosity and service to others without judgement.
Trudy is survived by her son Kenneth Murdock and his wife April (Jimenez) of Poinciana FL, her daughter Linda Catherine Perham, and her husband Randy of Guilford CT as well as two beloved grandchildren Amanda Perham and Brendan Perham and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband John and their son Thomas Bruce. A Funeral Liturgy and Celebration of Trudy’s life will be held later followed by inurnment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery Nanuet NY.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation in Trudy’s memory.
