

Clinton - J. Raymond Fournier, 89, passed away Sunday November 21 peacefully at home. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josephine F. (Bulluss) Fournier. Mr. Fournier was born on August 5, 1921 in Meriden CT, the son of the late Joseph and Hannah (Meskill) Fournier. Mr. Fournier proudly served his country in the Army as a Master Sergeant during WWII. A lifelong bank executive until his retirement, Mr. Fournier was an active sports enthusiast and a lifelong Yankees fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Mr. Fournier is survived by his 11 children; a daughter Patricia and her husband Tom Atkins of Old Lyme, a daughter Margaret and her husband Phil Dumais of Plainville, a daughter Kathleen and her husband John Cannaverde of New Fairfield, a daughter Colleen and her husband Russ Huntley of Burlington, a son Thomas with whom he lived in Clinton, a son Martin and his partner Bryan Cronin of Lindenhurst, NY, a daughter Mary Ellen and her husband Ben Valcour of Webster, MA, a daughter Eileen and her husband Neil Bernier of Bristol, a daughter Amy and her husband Jim Hunt of Burlington, a son Andrew and his wife Kimberly (Stoess) of Hollis, NH, a son Brian and his wife Kelly (Waters) of Thompson, 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Gordon Fournier of Meriden.
Calling hours will be from lOam-12pm on Friday November 26 at Swan Funeral Home at 825 Boston Post Road, Madison CT followed immediately by the funeral mass at 12pm at St Margaret Church, 24 Academy St., Madison. A private burial with full military honors will be held at a later date at West Cemetery in Madison.
