Jody Catalano, 52

It is with deep sadness that the family of Jody Catalano, age 52, of Madison, Connecticut, announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, March 10th in Mt. Holly, Vermont as a result of a snowmobiling accident. She was born at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut on July 22, 1968 to George B. Hall and Joyce (Sommerville) Hall. Jody attended Southington High School class of 1986 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Cazenovia College in 1993. She worked at Sarah-Tuxis for over 10 years as a group home lead. She loved her group home family, Megan, Sarah, and Eddie, and worked tirelessly on their behalf. Jody was a fierce advocate for individuals with special needs, and especially for her daughter. Jody is survived by her husband, Mike Catalano, and her three children, Gianna, Mikey, and Kyle; her parents, George and Joyce Hall; her brother, Doug Hall, and her nephews, Justin and Ryan; her in-laws, Mike and Linda Catalano; her aunt, Molly Sommerville Buchanan; and her uncle, Arthur “Mitch” Hall. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. More than anything, Jody loved her family, she could often be seen cheering on her children at their many sporting events, concerts, and activities including baseball, football, wrestling, choir, chorus, and cheerleading. She enjoyed getting coffee with her friends and had a few coffee groups where Jody was a fixture. The beach was her happy place and where she most wanted to be with her toes in the sand, the wind in her face, a good book, and her family and friends. A viewing will take place at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT 06443 on Wednesday, March 17th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a short prayer service at 6:30 pm. A private funeral service will take place at Swan Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18th at 10:00 am – attendance will be limited to immediate family members and invited guests due to COVID-19 restrictions. Dear Mike, Mikey, Gianna & Kyle,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mom was a very special person who loved her family very much. I was fortunate to have met her while working with Mikey and Gianna at Ryerson. I have many memories of her coming in to school and also running into her around town. I recently bumped into her at the supermarket, and we talked for a while. I am so glad that I had the time with her to talk and catch up. She was so proud to let me know how well you were doing. I’m sending my deepest sympathy to you all.
Love,
Erin

Dear, George,

Just learned of your daughter’s passing from my brother today. So sad and I any so sorry for your loss. My mom always said one of the saddest things in life is a parent losing a child. I would have attend the calling hours today if I knew earlier. I’m in our home in Coventry, CT having returned to Coventry from our winter vacation home in Island Pond, VT. We came home last Wednesday from VT. The photo tribute was very lovely. Again so so sorry for your loss.

Sincerely,

Steve Clark

My wife Rosemary and I did not know Jody well, meeting her just a few times at Hand freshman football games, but she always made it a point to give us a cheerful and warm hello.
It was obvious how much she loved her family and friends.
Ou deepest sympathy to husband Mike and children, her parents and Mike and Linda Catalano.

I send my deepest and heartfelt condolences to Jody’s family. I am deeply saddened. I worked with Jody for a number of years and she always treated me with respect. She loved talking about her daughter and showing pictures of her. And I loved listening. Jody was kind and compassionate; she loved the individuals that she worked for and they loved her. She will be forever missed. ❤️
