Lillian Amport of Madison, formerly of Essex Fells N.J., passed away peacefully at the Watrous Nursing Home on October 14, 2012. She was a past member of the Madison Winter Club and the Madison Beach Club and an avid bridge player. Born and raised in New Britain, CT. as a first generation American, she maintained her connection to her Swedish roots throughout her lifetime. While on staff as a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing she met her future husband, John (Jack) Amport, who predeceased her in 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Karin Peterson of Madison and Judy Cook of Wilton, CT, and a son John Amport of Killingworth, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. "Nana" will be remembered for her many accomplishments with needlecraft, best ever potato salad, her love of family, ready smile, can do attitude and her always positive outlook on life.
