Lorraine C. O’Neill, aged 62, of Madison, CT, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on August 20, 2023. With a personality that always lit up the room, Lorraine was always known as the life of the party. Her spirit will continue to be felt by all of those who loved her.
Lorraine leaves her husband, Edward O’Neill, her three sons, of which she was so proud, including William, his wife Fernanda, and beloved granddaughter Sophia. Edward and his fiancé, Roisin Higgins, and Brandon and his partner, Devin Maus. She is also survived by her many siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorraine was not just a mother to three boys, she was also their biggest fan. Always in the bleachers cheering loudly with enthusiasm at her boys' football and baseball games. She was their biggest supporter and would beam with pride no matter the outcome. Lorraine was also an avid New York Sports fan, always cheering on the Giants, Yankees and Rangers.
When she wasn’t cheering on her sons, she’d often be found at the gym or jogging along Middle Beach Road. Lorraine’s dedication and passion for fitness was always an inspiration. Her other joys in life included hosting friends by her pool, Christmas gift shopping for others any time of the year, or meeting a friend for a happy hour to enjoy a glass of Pinot Grigio. She always looked forward to reunions with her childhood friends from the New York City area, reminiscing on her time working for Eastern Railroads with dear friends, and telling stories about her days in the City.
Lorraine enjoyed 30+ years of traveling with her husband and love of her life, Edward O’Neill. When they needed time away from work and school, they savored trips to Jupiter, Palm Beach, Misquamicutt, Newport RI, and countless weekends in the Hamptons.
In recent years, her zest for life found its perfect match in the form of her cherished granddaughter, Sophia. They embarked on countless adventures together – from sunny days at the beach, swimming in the pool, and visiting museums and libraries. Lorraine's vibrant spirit and infectious energy turned life’s simple pleasures into an adventure.
As we keep Lorraine in our thoughts eternally, we remember her lively presence, her laughter, and her remarkable ability to love selflessly with her entire heart.
We invite you to celebrate this remarkable woman’s legacy on Thursday August 24th, at 2:00PM. Services will be held at St. Margaret’s Church in Madison, CT.
