Marcia Pickett Moran of Madison, CT passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Artis Senior Living in Branford, Connecticut. She passed away peacefully and was embraced in the arms of Jesus Christ and her Heavenly Father.
She was a loving wife to Michael Moran who predeceased her in 2020. Her three daughters, Catherine Moran Murphy (Michael) of Marco Island, FL, Elizabeth Moran Regan of Guilford, CT, Mary Moran Dobson of Guilford, CT, and son Michael Moran Jr. (Kristi) of Madison, CT were the center of her life. She was predeceased by her mother Catherine Pickett, brothers Edward Pickett and Thomas Pickett and her son-in-law, Brendan Regan. Nothing made her smile more than her six grandchildren Kelsey and Meghan Murphy, Nicholas and Kaitlyn Regan, and Jack and Madeline Dobson and her many nieces and nephews. She was extremely proud of every one of them.
She resided on Neck Road for the majority of her life. She graduated from Meriden High School in Meriden, CT and then graduated from St. Joseph College in Hartford, CT where she obtained a degree in teaching. Most of her teaching career was spent at Ryerson Elementary (formerly High Hill Elementary) in Madison where she taught second grade. She was an active member of Saint Margaret’s Church for over 60 years where she saw all her children get married. She volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Drives, led the rosary at Madison House and assisted in the computer room at Our Lady of Mercy School. She enjoyed traveling with Mike, going to the beach and gardening.
She was kind and loving to everyone she met. Her smile lit up a room and he made everyone’s day better. She loved life, had a deep faith in God, and loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful role model and led by example teaching us right and wrong, faith, kindness, and generosity.
Mom, Nana, Aunt Marcia, Marcia we love you. Thank you for everything you taught and gave to us. You were a blessing for all of us.
