Paula Claire Malboeuf
October 9, 1939 – February 20, 2021
Paula Claire Malboeuf, 81, of Killingworth, formally a long time resident of North Branford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 20th, 2021. Paula, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born October 9,1939 in New Haven, daughter of the late Vincent Lupone and Frances (Lanzo) Lupone. She leaves the love of her life and husband of 61 years, John F. Malboeuf.
Paula had a passion for baking and candy crafting. This love, coupled with her amazing talent, morphed into her greatest life accomplishment, owner and operator of Paula's Candy Kitchen in Branford. It was not unusual, even years after the business closed, for people to recognize Paula and stop to take a minute to chat, reminisce, or ask for baking advice!
Paula will be especially missed by her devoted daughters and their husbands, Cynthia and James Kenney of Madison and Renee and Robert Boudreau of Clinton. Grandma “P” will live forever in the hearts of her beloved grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Ensign Simmons; James and Jessica Kenney; Rebecca Boudreau; Sara and Thomas Kirsch; and her cherished great-granddaughters, Charlotte Simmons and Violet Kenney. Paula is also survived by her sister Ann and husband Mark Kunza, her loving nieces and so many lifelong friends.
Although Paula struggled with health issues over the past several years, her family and friends will fondly remember her love of the holidays, her delicious cakes always exquisitely decorated, her outrageous themed parties, her excitement over a good bus trip, her enthusiastic singing - often loud and off-key, especially in church, and her profound love of all things Disney. Most importantly though, Paula's family will remember her as a strong woman who was immensely proud of her family and how much she loved each and every one of them.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Undra, Paula’s dedicated caregiver, who was by her side for the past year.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 at 11:00AM in St. Margaret’s Church, 24 Academy St., Madison, CT 06443. Paula was always so nice to me and I always enjoyed talking to her. She was so friendly and caring and loved her family . The last time I saw her was with her great granddaughter Charlotte, and it was so sweet. She was the true meaning of a caring and loving person. I will miss you Paula!
