Robert was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of the late Robert and Mary Ryan Poulsen. He was a devoted husband to JoAnn (Ford) Poulsen, and together they shared a loving marriage that would have celebrated 50 years this upcoming July. He was a proud father to Ryan Poulsen and Bridget (Dominic) Ruggieri and an incredibly proud grandfather to Dominic, Maggie, and Claire, who were truly his whole world.
He is survived by his brother John (Jan) Poulsen, along with many nieces, extended family members, and friends whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his sister Jane (Robert) Tracy.
Robert will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, his love of pizza, his lawn mower, golf, the New York Yankees, and Cape Cod family vacations.
