Rosemary Y Walton, age 84, widow of Gerald S Walton, passed away on October 31, 2018. She and Jerry lived in Madison for over 50 years. Born in Taylorville, IL on February 20, 1934, Rosemary was raised in Stonington, IL then attended the Holy Cross School of Nursing where she earned her license as a registered nurse. She met Jerry in South Bend, IN where they married and then moved east, eventually making their home in Madison. Rosemary was a devoted wife and mother who was amazingly dedicated to her children. She is survived by her five children and eleven grandchildren: Steven Walton, his wife Diane, and their children Dan and Leah; Karen Lourd, her husband Paul, and their children Erica and David; Kathy Walton, her fiancé David Yale, and her children Nicole and Katie; Kris Kehoe, her husband Kevin, and their children Patrick, Matthew, and Mikayla; and Kevin Walton, his wife Marnie, and their children Tyler and Sean. She is also survived by her four brothers and one sister: Clarence Young of Toledo, Ohio, Howard Young of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Roy Young and his wife Jolene of Tuscola, IL, Nadine Sila and her husband Carl of Normal, IL, and Ben Young and his wife Janice of Gaithersburg, MD.

Rosemary and Gerald were very active in the community as members of St. Margaret’s Church in Madison until Jerry was asked to be the Deacon at St. Therese in Branford, where he served for 18 years. Rosemary worked as a nurse in various medical offices, enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s athletic events, and competed in the Madison Senior’s Bocce League. She was a member of several social groups including the Madison Senior’s Book Club, the ‘Empty Nesters’, and the ‘Deacons Wives’. She also played dominoes with her prayer group and enjoyed lunch and a movie at the Senior Center. Her energy, devotion, compassion, and cinnamon buns baked with love will be missed.

Memorial services will be held at St. Margaret’s Church in Madison on November 19th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in her memory to the Michael J Fox Foundation.
