Sharon Hopewell was a longtime resident of Guilford, longstanding English teacher at Daniel Hand High School, and lastly, a bilingual special education teacher at Kinsella Elementary School in Hartford before she retired. A graduate of Iowa State University with a BA in Journalism, she later married her college sweetheart, David, and they set out to live and work overseas in South and Central America in the ‘60s. After returning to the States they remained active and avid globetrotters. Sharon is survived by her only child Bix; grandsons Adam and Alex; plus, her superstar great-grandson Axl. "Pura Vida!"
