Thomas Gerald Iannucci, of Madison, and formerly of Hamden, beloved husband, father, and papa, entered into eternal rest with our God, our Lord, Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle with cancer on June 23, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He was born on April 5, 1947, in New Haven, the son of Edward and Maria Grazie Iannucci.
Thomas graduated from Hamden High School in 1967, and was drafted into the Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam from 1968, until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist 4, in April 1970. During his service he received the following decorations, medals and badges: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Sharpshooter (M-14 & M-16). He worked for Star Distributors for 25 years. Thomas loved spending every Sunday with his family, and playing baseball with his grandchildren.
Thomas is survived by his wife Leonore, together they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 16th; daughters Alicia Marie Iannucci Ferro (James), and Diana Lee Iannucci Westcott (Jeff); son Thomas Christopher Iannucci (Heather Keyes); grandchildren Gio Vincent Ferro and Olivia Lee Westcott; brother David Iannucci of New York; and beloved dog Molly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Edward Iannucci, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 30th at 11am in St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy St., Madison. Burial with military honors will follow at the Connecticut Veterans' Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
