My heart goes out to Tom's family.  I worked for Tom as one of his nurses at CMHC during which time my 3 yr old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was ultimately terminal.  We ran into each other again when he did some per diem home care nursing for me which was a pure delight to be in the same nursing environment with this man I considered my psych mentor and friend.  I don't know how I would have gotten through my daughter's situation if it were not for Tom with his exceptional kindness, compassion, understanding and generosity extended to me and I will never, ever forget him.  I considered him the best psychiatric nurse I ever encountered and he taught me the best of his best.  My life has been enriched because he touched it and his guidance and example shaped the kind of nurse I became.  I would like his family to know all he meant to me because it is a rare thing in this life to encounter one of such goodness both personally and professionally.  I wish you all peace and comfort in the knowledge that his goodness will live forever in my heart and yours as he himself taught me during the death of my own child.  He was a prince among men.  My deepest condolences to all of you who I never met but who I always felt like I had because you were all the loves of his life.  Thank you for sharing him with us.

We are all very saddened to hear of this latest loss to all of us on Webster Point and Pent Rd. We all enjoyed talking with Tom as he wheeled the twins around the neighborhood as the very proud grandfather. Tom was always uplifting and positive when we spoke and a wonderful, caring, friendly neighbor. I will miss him and our talks.

Rare is it that one finds the kindness and generosity of spirit I think of when I think of Tom.  He was a treasure, gentle and kind to each person he encountered.  I will always remember the warmth of his smile even during the most challenging times life presented.  I cannot imagine how devastated your family feels. Tom was my Behavioral Health Nursing Supervisor at New England Homecare. He was a very kind a caring nurse .As a nurse clinican at CMHC he provided much needed community support to the clients there Kathy Goodison Hamden

last year when my father Irving Raskin was very sick before he died this past march Tom was a big help and comfort to me while he was working for patient care.
I was very upset and overwhelmed and whenever I called the office Tom always took the time to talk to me
It was a wonderful act of kindness that is very rare and was greatly appreciated and not to be forgotten.

Thinking of you during this difficult time. Our hearts are with you.

  Tom has been our friend since high school.  Our families have shared many wonderful times together. Camping Trips, Halloween, Sneaking into Pools, Sleepovers, Picnics, Birthdays, Thanksgivings, Christmas and a lot of other happy times. The past 6 weeks have been unbelievable.
