William J. Boyle, Jr (Bill), most recently from Madison, CT. and formerly from Southbridge, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Watrous Nursing Center in Madison, Ct. Bill was widowed by his former wife Lorraine Loiselle Boyle of Southbridge, MA in 2004. He was born July 7, 1923 in Southbridge, MA to the late William J Boyle and Lillian LaVoie Boyle, and lived in Southbridge for most of his life. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and had a full career as a screw machine operator at J.I. Morris Company. Bill was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army as an infantryman, fighting in Germany and France. He received a Purple Heart for injuries incurred. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Southbridge and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He and his late wife Lorraine are survived by their three children; Nancy (Boyle) Alberico and her husband Edmondo of Madison, CT, Jack Boyle and his wife Mary of Spofford, NH and Jeff Boyle and his fiancée Christine Koumaras of Andover NJ. He is also survived by one sister, Elaine (Boyle) Trudeau of Southbridge, MA, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Bill was best known for his good natured personality, his quick wit, and his ability to fix anything. After retiring in 1986, Bill enjoyed spending his time traveling with Lorraine, visiting his family, and snow skiing and golfing with friends.

Bill’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of The Hearth at Tuxis Pond and Watrous Nursing Center, both of Madison, CT and to VITAS Hospice Care for their wonderful care and compassion. The family will celebrate his life with a memorial celebration to be scheduled at a later date. Memorial donations in his name may be made to VITAS Healthcare, 628 Hebron Ave, Ste. 300 Glastonbury, CT 06033

I have loving, fond memories of summers with the Boyle family at their lake house. "Mr. Boyle" was a great man who I was influenced by as another "dad". Much love and healing to all the Boyle family and friends.
