Anna Kirstein, age 92, died peacefully in her sleep on July 16, 2019 as a result of cancer. Anna was born on February 4, 1927 in Franztall, Yugoslavia to Jacob and Marie Saier. She immigrated to the United States in January of 1952 and met her husband, Eduard Kirstein, at the German American Club. They were married on June 21st of that same year. She was a dress maker by trade and made clothes for herself, her two girls and occasionally for others. After her children were in school she took a job at Jim Robbins, sewing seat belts for a few years. She later went on to work for Stanley Works. She enjoyed the friends she made while working there.
Anna loved her vegetable and flower gardens. She spent countless hours tending to these gardens. At 92 she still planted a big vegetable garden and was still tending to it until the last month.
Anna loved life and her family who she traveled with, both internationally and domestically. She spent lots of time with her family and she loved to tell stories and make people laugh with all her crazy antic. She is survived by her son, Edward Kirstein (Jean), daughters, Mary Gregg and Frances Przytulski (Steve), grandchildren, David Gregg, Sara Barnes ( Jim) Kate Gregg, Rebecca Willy (Dan), Amy Perilli (Brandon), Eric Kirstein (Rachel) Ashley Bommarito (Carlo) and Nicole Przytulski. She also has 11 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son-in-law Ron Gregg.
A memorial service will be held at Swanson Funeral Home on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 am.
