

Charles was a graduate of Cass Tech High School and carried a lifelong love of learning. In a true testament to his determination, he began college in his 50s and proudly completed his Bachelor's Degree, later building a successful career in Information Technology. Charles worked well into his later years, retiring at the remarkable age of 80.
He enjoyed life's quiet pleasures, especially playing chess and spending time at the Hazel Park Race Track, where he loved watching the horses race. In his later years, Charles also found great joy in traveling and experiencing new places.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Susan Pardee; his daughter, Christy Pardee; step-daughter Nicole (Jon) Pardee; step-grandchildren, Sydney Swain, Sebastian Swain, and Faith Chase; brother Paul (Clare) Pardee; nephew Eric Pardee, and niece Sheri Pardee. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Pardee, and his parents.
A visitation will be held at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, located at 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI, 48071, on January 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same venue from 11:30 am.
Charles will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, 621 W Long Lake Rd., Troy, MI 48098.
