Charles was a devoted husband for 72 years to his sweet Ann Marie Weber; beloved father to 5 children, Karen (William) Jensen, Sue (Scott) Watson, Mary (Dave) Pearson, Joe Weber and the late Charles Palma; loving grandfather to Kelly (Bryan) Tomaselli, William (Morgan) Jensen, Amanda (Keith) Pearson, Lauren (Nick) Pearson, Adam (Bre) Watson, Spencer Watson, and Kyle (Julia) Watson; cherished great-grandfather to Lucas, Aniston, Kane, William, Lyanna, and Raven; dearest brother to Cheryl, Gary, Lynn, the late William and the late Gilbert.
Charles attended Highland Park High School. He met Ann Marie at Flowoods restaurant in Highland Park and married when they were 20 and 21 years old. Charles and Ann Marie loved to play pool, guitar, bowl, dance, sing karaoke, and play cards with friends and family. They enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, as well. He had an abundance of friends and was known to be quite the prankster. He was very athletic growing up. He became an avid golfer, and taught Ann Marie and all of his children the game. Rochester Golf Course was his home course. He was a scratch golfer and was often sought out by many golfers at the course for golf advice. He was extremely strong and convinced all of his grandchildren that he was Superman. He worked for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years as a Designer and retired at the age of 54. He and Ann Marie quickly became snowbirds and loved their time in Florida with friends and family for many years. Ann Marie was the love of his life. Though he had COPD, he fought hard to stay healthy for Ann Marie. Love, laughter and family was of the utmost importance to Charles.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071, on August 23, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 PM.
