Sue and Bill, We were neighbors for many years. Christy and Kathy spent a lot of years playing sports together. I was proud to have taught with her for 8 years. Christy was an exceptional teacher and all of her students were so lucky to have her as their teacher.
We are so very saddened at your loss. You are all in our prayers.

My condolences go out to the family and students. Cristy was a wonderful person. I got to share a little piece of my life with her. Not only was she my babysitter as a child (the only babysitter I never made my mom fire) but she was also my teacher when I went to middle school which was a surprise for me but also comforting for me to have her there during my transition. She taught me a lot and I will forever be grateful to have had her in my life for the time that I did. She was an amazing person and it's very saddening to have her gone so young.

Sue, I am so very sorry for your loss. I am grieved to learn of Christy's passing. I remember her as a student and was proud when she became a teacher in our district.

You will remain in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry! DiAnne Cagle Leitermann, Madison Heights, MI

My prayers go out to Cristy's family. She was an phenomenal educator who cared deeply for all of her students and did her best to make a difference in their lives. There were so many students who would turn to her when they wouldn't trust anyone else. She was also very supportive of the other staff in the Madison District, helping other teachers to more effectively reach and teach the students. She truly made a positive difference in all the lives she's touched.
