Growing up in Royal Oak, Michigan, David was the son of Daniel and Margaret Rudy and shared his childhood with his brother Ted and sister Myra. He is also survived by his loving “Aunt Do" who was a great influence during his early years. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Some of his favorite memories of childhood were trips to the Mira River in Nova Scotia or to Glencoe, Ontario. He graduated from Bishop Foley High School, where he met his “sweets”, Ann. The high school sweethearts shared over 40 years of marriage.
A true man's man, David was a blue-collar worker and a skilled toolmaker by profession. He took pride in providing for his family and instilled these principles in his four sons – Joe, Nick, Kyle, and Sean. When he wasn’t working, you could find him hunting with his friend Dean, bowling on Tuesdays with his son Kyle, or golfing with his sons & brothers. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, smoking a brisket, and having a Budweiser or two.
While projecting a tough exterior, David was a soft-hearted man at his core. He believed in supporting his people and was quick to lend a helping hand, embodying the values of family, hard work, and loyalty.
David is survived by his loving wife, Ann, and his four sons Joe (Jenny), Nick (Lacey), Kyle (Shannon), and Sean. He had five grandchildren – Joey, Lilly, Addie, Gabe, and Cameron. His legacy of love and the importance of family will be cherished and remembered by all.
