

Donald "Ray" Killebrew age 89, a resident of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Kindred at Masters Algood, Tennessee. Ray was born January 24, 1924 in Dresden, Tennessee. Ray is survived by his wife Deane, his children Larry Killebrew of Novi, Michigan and Teresa (Jack) Henry of Almont, Michigan, grandfather of Kelly, Kevin and Kyle. Ray was predeceased by his three sisters, the late Bonnie Ruth Harrison, the late Rachel Esch and the late Faye Castleman. Ray is uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 12, 2013 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. with funeral services on Saturday, April 13, 2013 10:30 a.m. at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Madison Heights, Michigan 48071. Interment Oakview Cemetery, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association. Ray lived in Cookeville, Tennessee for the past six years. Prior to that he was a long time resident of Royal Oak, Warren and Almont, Michigan. Ray retried from the City of Royal Oak Water Department in 1982 and was a veteran of the Army WW II. Our dad was a proud quiet man who always put his family first. He had a love for baseball. One of Ray's finest moments was meeting Harmon Killebrew at Tiger Stadium in 1967. Ray was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa. Dad, you earned eternal peace. We'll always live our lives the way you taught us. Forever in our hearts.
