Ernest Eugene Holifield age 67, passed away March 14, 2020. Ernest was born September 19, 1952 in Highland Park, Michigan. Beloved Husband of Catherine. Dear father of Michael Holifield, Michelle (Brad) Baker, Lori Tosto. Dear son of Earnest (Shirley) Holifield and the late Wanda Holifield. Loving grandfather of Chelsey, Michael Jr., Morgan, Gavin, Liam, Sienna, Genevieve, and Taylin. Great Grandfather of Marley, J.J., Lucia, and Tia. Brother of Sharon (Tom) Ratica and Dawn Hucker.
Ernest was a friend to everyone he met. He loved to laugh, and make others laugh. He was always there for his family. After Ernest retired from Chrysler where he worked as a robotic technician, he never slowed down. He ran a small Real Estate business and property management business keeping himself busy. Ernest loved to travel. Some of his happiest times were spent on the beach in Mexico or Florida. Nothing was better than taking his family out on the boat rides.
Visitation will be held Wednesday March 18, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Road Madison Heights, Michigan 48071. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Leukemia Foundation.
A celebration of Ernie's life will be held this summer after the current crisis subsides and larger gatherings are allowed.
