Eugene Richard Bosetti Sr. passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 92. He was a resident of Madison Heights, Michigan. He was born on March 5, 1934, in Highland Park, MI, to the late Sergio and Alda Bosetti.
Eugene found great joy in the simple things in life: time with family, music, walking outside, and the many hobbies that brought him happiness. He had a lifelong love of pheasant hunting and fishing and cherished his time spent at his lake house in Port Austin. Eugene also enjoyed collecting coins and trains. He had a special love for trains and enjoyed everything about them, inspiring him to have a train set of his own. Eugene was also a proud Corvette enthusiast. He was a member of a Corvette club and took great pride in owning a classic Corvette and spending time with all the friends in the club.
Eugene’s faith took priority in his life, as he was a devoted parishioner of St. Vincent for 68 years. His love of music was also a large part of his faith, as he spent more than 55 years sharing his voice with the St. Vincent Ferrer Choir, the Rackham Choir, and the Madison Chorale.
A proud alumnus of Lawrence Technological University and a lifetime member of IEEE, Eugene was an accomplished electrical engineer. He believed in giving back and was a generous donor to causes and organizations that were meaningful to him. And, of course, those who knew him best will always remember his love of sweets, a fitting little part of the man who brought so much sweetness to the lives of those around him.
More than anything, Eugene cherished his family and the life he built with his beloved wife, Sara Jane. Married for 68 years, their bond was rooted in deep love, loyalty, and companionship. Sara Jane was the love of his life, and he treasured her not only as his wife but as his lifelong partner and best friend. The love he held for her was evident in the life they built side by side and will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
In addition to being a devoted husband to his sweet Sara Jane, Eugene was a cherished father to Gene (Lorie Ann) Bosetti Jr., Mary (Adam) Russell, Kathleen (David) Seagram, Karen (David) LaVearn, and Christine (Joseph) Borg; loving grandfather to Daniel (Kelli), Katherine (James), Megan, Ryan (Natalie), Kayla, Brandon, Bryan (Hailey), Alaina, Rocco, Jaclynn (Joseph), and Sergio; dearest great grandfather to six great grandchildren; and beloved godparent to Lisa Felch.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Josephine Bosetti.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
Eugene will lie in-state at 10:30am on Friday, September 25, 2026 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 28353 Herbert Street, Madison Heights 48071, until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11am.
