Florence S. Haupt

September 27, 1931September 14, 2013

Florence Sarah (Wallin) Haupt passed away on September 14, 2013 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert. Loving mother of Mary (Larry) Carr, David (Carla) Haupt, Robert (Mary) Haupt, Patricia (Duane) Allen, Susan (Terry) Harrison, Debora (Ronald) Szeliga, Dianne (Brian) Olley and John (Kristi) Haupt. Proud Grandmother of Melissa (Tim) Graves, Aaron, Jennifer and Kristin Carr, Elizabeth (Jason) Wolfenden, Robert Haupt, Matthew (Christina) Haupt, Sarah Haupt, Kathrine (Marty) Krantz, Joseph, Jonathon and Zack Allen, Jeffrey Harrison, Brandon (Laurel) Szeliga, Colleen and Julie Szeliga, Brian and Ben Olley, and Courtney and Alexa Haupt. Great Grandmother of eleven and counting. Survived by her sisters Rosemary Hartlaub and Barbara Jaeger of Denver, Colorado.

Mom was a feisty Irish angel with a love for all things Irish. She was an advocate of women's equality long before it was popular and passed this onto her children. By her example, her daughters, learned to be strong women and her sons were taught how women should be treated. She was a true optimist, she not only looked at the glass half full, but over flowing with endless possibilities and laughter. The world is less vibrant and creative without her in it. Mom was able to make everyone she met feel unique and special.

If you see a rainbows in the sky, it may be her painting in heaven. God bless you Mom, as God has blessed us with you.

The family wishes to thank Angela's Hospice especially Keith Frania, and our night time angel, Diane. Donations to Pulmonary Fibrosis and Alzheimer's Association.

Aunt Flo was the light in the room. So sad that she is gone, but she has left a legacy of light in her family. Love to you all, wish I could have been there!

I love the description of Aunt Florence as "a feisty Irish angel." Yes, she was. She added so much to my life through the years, hauling the whole family out to Colorado for our wonderful vacations. My thoughts are with all of you.

Dear Kate and family,
While I know how special grandmothers are it is difficult to expect to replace or compare. One can only hold dear all those special memories and more importantly the lessons that are learned from our special loved ones of that era. There is nothing like the simple, obvious guidance and support of that of a grandmother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Kate, and your family at this difficult time. Much love, Mrs. Satterlee

Flo was an exceptional woman. She had a great sense of humor (I personally appreciated that) and a contagious laugh. She was strong when she needed to be and soft when you needed her to be. She lives on through her wonderful family. Love you guys!

John, I was saddened when I learned that you and your family have suffered your mother's passing. You all in the hearts and prayers of the Saad family.

I took some time to view the wonderful photo gallery posted with your mother's memorial and I was touched. In your sadness, I see you also have cherished memories of all the lives she touched. When the sadness ebbs a bit (my personal experience tells me it never goes away), you'll have those memories to cherish and savor.
