

Freda's life story is a testament to resilience and dedication. Born on August 24, 1919, to Stanley and Rozalia (Kempisty) Guzowski, she grew up in Iron River, Michigan, with eight siblings. After graduating from Iron River High School in 1937, she moved to Detroit in 1941. There, she worked as a supervisor at Michigan Bell for a decade. In 1948, Freda married Joseph Hojnacki and they built a loving home in Warren, Michigan, where they raised three children together. Freda dedicated 19 years to working in Communications at Beaumont Hospital, before retiring in 1986.
Freda found joy in the everyday blessings of life. She delighted in preparing meals for her family, baking cookies, tending to her garden, and playing Carioca. She was a devoted Detroit Tigers and Pistons fan, always enthusiastically cheering them on. Freda enjoyed attending her weekly TOPS meetings, where she was the club cheer gal. She took immense joy in sending cards through the mail, spreading happiness to those around her.
Each year, Freda anticipated her vacation to her hometown in Iron River, where she cherished the time spent at family reunions. She enjoyed spontaneous trips to the casino and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a good party. For Freda, family was at the heart of everything she held dear. She cherished the moments when everyone gathered for family celebrations, holidays, or simply to share in laughter and companionship. These times of togetherness were the source of her greatest joy and fulfillment.
Freda's memory will live on through her unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of love, kindness, and a life beautifully lived will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Freda is survived by her children, Gail (James) Pachla, Rosanne (Richard) Gorgon, and Michael (Linda) Hojnacki; her 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and her 8 siblings.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM. to 8:00 PM with Rosary at 7 PM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, located at 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church. The church is located at 2500 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48092.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, located at 18201 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038.
