Herbert L. Proffitt

Herbert L. Proffitt, age 96, died April 19, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Joanne and the late Lucy. Loving father of Nancy McEachern, Barbara (the late Jeffrey Althouse) Proffitt, and Susan (Joel) Burke. Step-father of the late James Deering and Judy (Steve) Overstreet. Dearest grandfather Allison Burke, Jennifer Burke, Kara Burke, and Zachary Althouse. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. Herbert proudly served in World War II and the Korean War in the US Army. Visitation Monday, April 23, 2018 from 3-8 pm at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights. Funeral service Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment at Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester Hills, Michigan. Memorial contributions to the Hazel Park Church of Christ would be appreciated.
