Herman's life was marked by love, commitment, and tireless dedication. He shared 73 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife Betty, whom he wed at the Saint Paul United Church of Christ in Warren. Their enduring love was an inspiration to all who knew them.
As a brick mason, Herman's hard work and craftsmanship left a lasting imprint on the communities he served. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1946-1948. Beyond his profession, Herman found joy in various hobbies and activities. He was an avid bowler and card player, particularly enjoying games of pinochle and euchre. His green thumb was evident in his passion for gardening producing beautiful vegetables and flowers.
A pillar of the St, Paul church community Herman's generosity knew no bounds. Alongside his beloved wife Betty, he volunteered tirelessly, serving in various capacities to support those in need. His zest for life extended to the great outdoors, where he found solace in golfing, skiing, cross-country adventures, and the thrill of hunting and fishing.
Above all else, Herman will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and unwavering presence in the lives of those around him. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
Herman was a loving husband to Betty Jane Wolgast; Loving Father to Kerry (Brenda), the late Carl, Kathy (the late Robert), Carol (Bill), & Cheryl (Michael); Cherished grandfather to many Grandchildren & Great- Grandchildren; Dearest Brother to Dennis. Predeceased by his siblings Walter, John, Bud, Joan, and Reg.
He will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery privately with his family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will be updated here as soon as it is available.
