

James was happily married to Linda for 38 wonderful years, and together they built a life filled with love and shared memories. James was a cherished father to Robert, a beloved brother to Mike (Diane), and a loving uncle to Todd, James, and Scott.
An avid race car fan, James made sure he watched every race broadcasted. He attended a few races in Daytona, Michigan, and in Indy. He also loved fishing and spent many peaceful days at their beloved Outpost Lodge on Lake Jobammageeshig in Upper Ontario, along with fishing he enjoyed camping and would go out to Walden Woods where they were members for 38 years creating lifelong memories. James was a good cook and was best known for his legendary mac and cheese.
James was loyal, hardworking, and loved his animals. In addition to his hobbies and talents, he dedicated 25 years to Beaumont Royal Oak Hospital in Supply and 10 years at the Judson Center, leaving a lasting impact on his coworkers and community.
After graduating from Lamphere High School in 1967 James proudly served his country where he spent most of his Army enlistment in Korea. His service exemplified his sense of duty and commitment to others.
James will be remembered for his kind heart, and willingness to help anyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation to celebrate James' life will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with a Memorial Service to be held at 4:00 PM at Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Rd., Madison Heights, MI, 48071.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to be made in James' honor to a charity of their choice.
