James Robert Long

James Robert Long, age 87, of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on June 14, 2019. He was born on March 16, 1932 in Trezenant, Tennessee to the proud parents of Robert J Long and Annie Long. James is the beloved husband of Wanda for 19 years. He is the loving father to Gary (Laverne) Long, Michael (Nancy) Long, Vickie (David) Yonka, Debbie (Pete) Stevens, Dolores (Sid) Blomburg, and Dennis Long. James is the cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his grandson Brian Long and great-grandchild Avery Long. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2019, at Edward Swanson and Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, Michigan 48071, beginning with a gathering at 9:00 am until time of service at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at White Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2019, from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at the funeral home. Any donations made in memory of James will be made out to a charity of the families choosing.
