Jerry was a great friend to our family. He was always there to lend a hand any time one was needed. I remember watching in awe as he & my dad lugged a cast iron bathtub out of the upstairs bath, down the stairs & out the door - without breaking anything! They also tore out a door wall & built a new wall with a picture window in its place, poured a patio & built an aluminum awning over it, the list goes on! They were like a super duo & I was always amazed that they just knew how to do everything. On a few occasions I was lucky enough to tag along with Dad to meet Jerry, Mr. G., & the guys up at Gels sporting goods store in Universal Mall. They were like kids in a candy shop comparing all the fishing lures & rods, then debating the pros & cons of each over coffee afterward. When they deemed me old enough to hear the stories, I enjoyed listening to them reminisce about the pranks they pulled on each other during their hunting trips (there were some doozies!). Jerry had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. We will miss him always.

Because Jerry was one of my father's dearest friends, I have never known a time when Jerry was not around. He could always be counted on for a joke or for an observation that would never fail to start a fun conversation. I can remember one time when I was still living at my parent's house that I was having some trouble with my car. As I was standing there with the hood up, trying to see if I could figure out what might be the problem, Jerry and Dad walked up and the three of us finally got it figured out and got the car started. Countless number of times I would look up to see Jerry coming around the fence in the backyard for a cup of coffee with the folks. Either I or my sisters would call out "Jerry's here!" In more recent years, he was always good company for a cup of coffee, either at the house or up at the Cabin. In over 40 years, I can't remember a single time when his hair was not perfectly combed into place! It is hard to think of a world without Jerry in it. He was a cherished friend to the entire family, not just to my dad Len. He was a wonderful person who will be missed dearly. My sincere sympathy to his family.
