As a young boy, Leslie loved to hike the trails to northern Michigan to fish and camp under the stars.
As a young man, he joined the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was in the 341st bombardment squadron stationed in Alaska, flying B-29 bombers.
Leslie built his family's home in Troy, MI while being an accomplished iron worker & structural engineer, owning his business, Globe Construction. He helped construct many buildings still standing in Michigan today, including a section of the Mackinac Bridge.
For fun, Leslie sailed the Mackinac Race, multiple times, played the trumpet, golfed, whistled tunes and entertained friends and family, literally.
When he lost his wife, Shirley Ann in 1993, he retired to Cape Coral, FL, where he lived out his years hosting any and everyone that wished to visit and vacation.
The family would like to thank Laura Onzo, Leslie's care giver who is now and shall ever be, part of our family.
As well as, Peter & Dianne Rushton of Pete's Fish & Chips, Marie & Harvey Jefferies and family, Cape Coral, FL for being there for Les in his toughest times. Our family extends our never-ending gratitude.
