She was born on December 10, 1951 in Hilo, Hawaii, to the late Tatsuo and Suzanna (Hall) Oishi.
Liana shared her life with her significant other, Curly, for 20 wonderful years, and together they celebrated their 20th anniversary on September 4th, 2025. She was a loving mother to Douglas (Mary) Cortez and Joel Cortez; a proud grandmother to Kainalu, Christian, and Autumn Cortez; a cherished sister to Donnie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Sarah and Priscilla; and her brother George. Family meant everything to Liana, and her greatest joy came from spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.
Liana had a passion for cooking and was happiest when sharing her recipes and treats with others. She would always make sure you were fed while visiting her home. She also enjoyed baking, crafting, and creating unique gifts for her family. Every Christmas she would make cheescakes and cookies and pass them out to friends and family. Shopping at all kinds of stores was one of her favorite pastimes, and she always found ways to bring happiness into the lives around her.
She was known for her kind heart, infectious laugh, and sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. Whether she was sharing a funny story, offering a listening ear, or simply brightening a room with her smile, she made those around her feel loved. She touched the lives of countless family members and friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Liana will be lovingly remembered for her radiant smile, kind heart, and the warmth she shared so effortlessly with everyone around her. Her beautiful soul and the love she gave so freely will never be forgotten.
As she always said, "I love you the mostest."
