Robert Walter Burgess

Robert Walter Burgess, age 64, of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born January 7, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Robert and Elaine (Starzyk) Burgess.

Rob proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He graciously received his 14 year sobriety coin from AA this year. Rob will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

Survived by his sisters, Laura Russ and Tina (John) Fieser; Uncle of Alan (Ashley) Russ, Sean Russ, Brad (Kellie) Russ, Anthony Rogers, Jessica (Adam) Wrathkey, Jamie (Peter) Schauer, Jenna (Jon) Fieser; Great Uncle of 10; and devoted cousins Diane Dauksas and Victoria Gorgon. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Deborah Burgess and Gary Burgess; and best friend Eddie.

A memorial visitation for Robert will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 from 9:00 am until a Memorial Service at Noon at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
